Development of a UV visible spectrophotometric method for simultaneous estimation of Ranolazine and Metoprolol

Ranolazine being Na+ channel blocker agent, decreases the chances of angina attacks. Metoprolol exerts specific β1 blocking effect which results into decreased cardiac contractility and heart Rate (1). Ultimately reduces oxygen demand heart. enhances pharmacological activity so combination gives better therapeutic (2).
 There is no UV visible method present for simultaneous estimation Metoprolol. To formulate evaluate such a formulation involving mentioned drugs this equation was developed using 0.1 N HCl as solvent. Chosen wavelengths were 272 nm 242 Succinate respectively. Linearity range seen to be 7.5 40 ppm 1 5 Recovery studies Validation successfully performed according ICH guidelines. This can applied any consisting without interference other excipients.
